reward systems.

For games, for classrooms, and for software. Three different rooms — one discipline: understand what motivates a person, then build the loop that keeps them coming back.

CardLinks — Software Developer

Platform architecture and application design for Referral Rewards by CardLinks, an NFC-based referral attribution platform for local service businesses. A customer taps a referral card on a friend's phone; the friend gets a trackable first-visit offer; the business sees the whole chain — referral, claim, visit, reward — without anyone installing an app.

It is a reward loop with real stakes: the design has to make referring feel effortless for the customer and provable for the business. That is the same problem a game economy or a token board solves — attribution, timing, and a payoff worth repeating.

Where reward systems meet real kids

In New York City I work as a Registered Behavior Technician with Comprehensive Behavior Supports, following classroom years at the Manhattan Children's Center and Academics West — merging Applied Behavior Analysis with STEM- and game-based learning for neurodivergent students.

Comprehensive Behavior Supports RBT · Jun 2020 – present

  • 1:1 ABA therapy for pediatric clients — behavior-reduction and skill-acquisition programming.
  • Daily data collection and graphing to keep treatment honest; parent training for skill generalization.
  • Gamified reinforcement schedules that keep motivation high through hard sessions.

Manhattan Children's Center Assistant Teacher · Jul 2024 – Feb 2026

  • 1:1 and small-group ABA instruction (DTT, NET, prompting hierarchies) for students with ASD.
  • Behavior Intervention Plans with real-time data collection; AAC and functional-communication support.
  • Transdisciplinary collaboration with BCBAs, SLPs, and OTs under MCC's model.

Academics West Assistant Teacher · Jan 2022 – Jun 2024

  • Daily instruction for 8–10 students with complex learning profiles, using gaming and technology to lift engagement and task completion.
  • IEP implementation alongside psychologists, SLPs, and OTs in a therapeutic school setting.
  • STEM materials built on game-development principles to teach problem-solving.

The neurobiology coursework is not a footnote — it is where the interest in how brains learn started, a decade before ABA made it a profession.
